Härkönen admits to Veitola that he had already had time to think that he would no longer worry about anyone in his life.
– If there are three long alliances, it already seemed somehow that you can’t fight at all anymore. You can no longer get to know a new person, and you can no longer mentally bear the fact that someone else has power over you.
– In a relationship, if you start to love someone, then he has the power to hurt you. If you are somehow dependent on him, Härkönen ponders.
Härkönen tells Veitola the teachings of his previous alliances. He says, among other things, that in his first relationship, he might not have known how to apologize or accept himself. From his second marriage, he mentions that he learned, among other things, that it is worth having children.
Härkönen has one, grown-up son Lauri.

– I learned that it also has its limits, how much you can pay and what kind of prices. I am no longer ready to pay the hellish anxiety that comes from constant arguments and power struggles.
– Now, after all the experiences, I would probably give up more easily, also in relation to other relationships than couples. I’d go for a walk earlier if it seems like it.

Härkönen and Keskinen met through a mutual friend. They got to know each other better at a dinner organized at Keskinen’s:
– Did this mutual friend think that you could be a match? Had he messed this up? Veitola inquires.
– He was a bit of a pimp. He was shocked, Härkönen admits.
Härkönen says that dating is different in your 60s than in your twenties.
– In a way, but yes, it might be just as exciting to meet someone else. Falling in love is always wonderful.
– But don’t expect anything. Not waiting for someone else to make me happy and solve all my problems. Realize that one person is not the answer to all needs, Härkönen reflects.
