How can collaboration between crafts, medicine and research help to better understand the topic of hearing and further develop care? Schleswig-Holstein’s Minister for General and Vocational Education, Science, Research and Culture, Dr. Dorit Stenke visiting HörHanse eV in Lübeck. Through conversations with those involved and insights into current applications and research relating to hearing, she gained insights into the different perspectives of the actors associated with the association.
At the Lübeck location, training, research and practical care come together in an extraordinary way – from vocational school to master craftsman qualifications to studies and scientific research. HörHanse connects these structures and strengthens the exchange between those involved. The whole of Schleswig-Holstein can benefit from this. said Minister Dr. Stink when visiting the HörHanse. In doing so, she addressed a topic that is also becoming increasingly important to society: As the population ages, the need for professional hearing care increases, while at the same time technologies and scientific findings relating to human hearing are constantly developing. The Science Council also welcomes it In view of the high importance of hearing acoustics training in Lübeck, the newly founded HörHanse alliance is encouraged […]to make this unique selling point more visible and to develop transfer and translation potential together with relevant companies and hospitals.

At HörHanse, crafts, hearing care and science work hand in hand

HörHanse brings together people who deal with the topic of hearing from different perspectives. These include hearing care professionals, doctors, scientists as well as teachers and trainers. They continue to work in their respective professions – for example in caring for patients, training young people in the industry or in research and teaching. In the network, they get to know the perspectives of other areas and exchange experiences, questions and possible common approaches. In this way, competencies can be bundled and existing resources can be used better. At the same time, contacts are created that facilitate cooperation and strengthen the exchange between practice, training and research.
In recent years, a network has emerged in which people work together on equal terms on the topic of hearingsays PD Dr. Hendrik Husstedt, CEO of HörHanse eV The close connection between crafts, hearing care and science is particularly important. Findings from research flow directly into the care of people with hearing problems, while experiences from clinical and hearing acoustics also provide important impulses for research. We would like to continue to build on this strong network.
The Lübeck location offers special conditions for this. This is where professional training, master craftsmanship qualifications, studies and scientific research on the subject of hearing come together. Those involved plan to further expand the collaboration in the coming years. Among other things, joint research infrastructures, stronger collaborations with companies and international contacts will be discussed. The coordination of the association as a network also plays an important role: structures are created in which people from different areas can meet, exchange ideas and develop joint projects. What this exchange looks like in concrete terms can be seen at the HörHanse Days on June 10th and 11th in Lübeck, where experts from science and practice come together, provide insights into current projects and provide interdisciplinary impulses.
