With the special edition of “Combat Rock” / “The People’s Hall” The Clash album from 1982 is re-released – on May 20, 2022 the work comes as a 2-CD set and 3-LP version. The previously unreleased collaboration “Rock the Casbah” / “Red Angel Dragnet” has been available as a limited 7-inch single since Thursday (April 7th).

Combat Rock is the last album recorded by The Clash with their classic line-up of Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Topper Headon. The record became their biggest hit, and in addition to “Rock the Casbah”, “Should I Stay Or Should I Go” became particularly popular, not least rediscovered in 1991 by a jeans advertisement.

When The Clash returned to London in 1981 after 17 concerts at New York’s Bond’s Casino, they were rehearsing at The People’s Hall in the activist-founded Republic of Frestonia off Latimer Road. From there it went on a Southeast Asian tour; the cover motif was created in Thailand. The tracklist with previously unreleased titles and rare early versions documents the period between the release of the single “Radio Clash” and “Combat Rock”.

The double single “Red Angel Dragnet” and “Rock The Casbah”, available since Thursday, pairs The Clash with the late Ranking Roger, frontman of The Beat.
