“I am really disappointed that I have to miss the Tour of Flanders, especially in the Belgian champion jersey. This race means a lot to me. But at the moment my body is not yet ready to ride at the level this race demands,” says Ghekiere. “Now I am focusing on a good recovery and preparation for the Ardennes classics, where I hope to be able to start again and show my jersey in Belgium.”
