Iltalehti found out the costs of the 2025 Linna celebrations.

The Independence Day reception of the President of the Republic on December 6 is one of the highlights of the year, watched by a large audience on television. Presidential couple Alexander Stubb and mrs Suzanne Innes-Stubb have brought with them reforms that have been received with joy among the people.
Every year, the price tag of Linna’s parties is also discussed. Iltalehti asked the office of the President of the Republic what the parties cost in 2025.
– The costs of the 2025 Independence Day reception were around 283,000 euros. Small expenses may still be billed during the spring, TPK replies to Iltalehti.
The costs of the party have therefore remained the same compared to the previous year. In 2024, when the Stubbs hosted the party for the first time, the costs were around 290,000 euros.
There have been no big fluctuations in costs. In 2023, the president Sauli Niinistön and Ph.D Jenni Haukion when hosting Linna’s party, the costs were 275,000 euros. In 2022, the price tag was 260,000 euros. In 2019, the party cost 255,000 euros, and in 2018, 216,000 euros.
Niinistö’s most expensive Independence Day reception was in 2013. At that time, the reception was organized at Tampere building due to the renovation of the Presidential Palace. At that time, the price for the party reception for 1,700 guests was 263,000 euros.
The rise in prices and costs has accelerated in Finland in general over the past couple of years, but the expenses have been kept moderate at Linna’s celebrations.
