Handball Bundesliga
As of: March 2nd, 2026 8:55 a.m
TSV Hannover-Burgdorf suffered a surprising home defeat in the Handball Bundesliga on Sunday. There was a 22:28 (11:15) defeat against FrischAuf Göppingen.
The first half was definitely not an offensive fireworks display or a handball treat: both teams had a hard time attacking, although the old masters from Göppingen were initially the slightly better team and were ahead 5-4 after 15 minutes.
Hannover simply didn’t develop a flow to the game and repeatedly made technical errors. The hosts had to work hard for every goal. Göppingen coped better, had a significantly higher throw rate and was ahead 15:11 at the break after an average of 30 Bundesliga minutes.
Used day for the “warriors”
After the change, handball continued to be worked rather than played. Hannover tried to bite into the game, but couldn’t get any closer. The guests used a majority to increase the score to 21:16 in the 44th minute. A little later the lead was even six goals (23:17).
There was no more than a little cosmetic results for Hannover in the final phase on this wasted day. TSV’s best thrower was national player Renars Uscins with nine hits.
Next game in the European Cup on Tuesday
