A serious fall on her skiing holiday ruined Anna Kraft’s Christmas. Now the TV presenter has had knee surgery.
Two days before Christmas, Anna Kraft fell while skiing. “On the second descent I was cut and fell badly. I took off properly and the binding didn’t come loose,” said Kraft when asked by t-online in December. The anterior cruciate ligament is “completely gone” and the inner ligament is also damaged. The 40-year-old, who is in front of the camera for RTL as a presenter on football and the news program “RTL aktuell”, spent the holidays with her family with a bad knee. She has now had a successful operation in Munich.
Kraft addressed her 250,000 followers on her social media channels on Thursday with a video message from the hospital. “So, dear ones, I’ve had an operation since yesterday. Admittedly, I still look a bit wild, but I’m feeling really good. I’m staying in the hospital for two days, the operation went well, I’m in very little pain,” says Kraft. She continues, somewhat surprised: “But there is no one here who does physiotherapy with me. There is no one here who does lymphatic drainage and I am a bit overwhelmed and overwhelmed as to why I should stay until lunchtime tomorrow.”
Kraft still uses her time in the hospital for exercise, even if only passively. “I watch a lot of the Olympics,” reveals the TV presenter. And apparently Kraft is inspired by the athletes. Because: Despite the accident and the operation, she hasn’t lost her desire for skiing. “I’ll be back on skis in ten months,” she announces.
In addition to her work as a television presenter, Kraft is an active author. The former track and field athlete and studied sports scientist made it public in 2021 that she had been suffering from multiple sclerosis since 2015. She wrote the book: “Show of Strength – My Life with Multiple Sclerosis”.
