New single, album, world tour: The Foo Fighters are back with “Your Favorite Toy”.

The Foo Fighters are back with new music: With the single “Your Favorite Toy”, the band gives a first look at their upcoming studio album of the same name – the US rock band’s twelfth album. The record will be released on April 24, 2026 via Roswell Records/RCA Records. More information here.

“Your Favorite Toy” as the initial spark

“Your Favorite Toy” is the Foo Fighters’ first new release of 2026. The song combines edgy guitar lines with distinctive keyboard pads and a driving rhythm foundation. Frontman Dave Grohl uses a comparatively sharp, sometimes sarcastic vocal tone.

Musically, the band moves between familiar stadium rock drama and more experimental elements. According to Grohl, the track marks a new creative phase. “’Your Favorite Toy’ was the key that set the tone and energetic direction of the album,” explains Grohl. After a long period of experimenting with different sounds and dynamics, this piece crystallized the direction of the entire project.

The Foo Fighters: From Nirvana reverberations to stadium rock institutions

The Foo Fighters were founded in 1994 by Dave Grohl, immediately after the death of Kurt Cobain and the end of Nirvana. Originally conceived as a solo project, the band quickly became a fixture in alternative and mainstream rock. With albums like “The Color and the Shape,” “There Is Nothing Left to Lose” and “Wasting Light,” the Foo Fighters established themselves as one of the most influential rock bands of their generation.
