The e-commerce specialist Baur Group has appointed Carolin Schmidt as Head of Human Resources. The 41-year-old took over her new position on March 1st, the company, which belongs to the Hamburg retail and service group Otto Group, announced on Thursday. She succeeded Sabine Kratochwil, who had held the post since 2003 and has now taken early retirement.
Schmidt has many years of experience in human resources. According to her new employer, she was most recently Head of HR Business Partner at the logistics service provider DB Schenker. At Baur, she now reports to Hans-Christian Müller, who, as managing director, is responsible for human resources, among other things.
Müller was delighted with the new commitment: “With Carolin Schmidt, we are gaining a proven and experienced expert in the important field of human resources work. I’m sure that with this professional know-how and her empathetic humanity, she fits in perfectly with us,” he said in a statement.
