Eurozone retail sales fell slightly more than expected in December. Compared to the previous month, they fell by 0.5 percent, as the European statistics office Eurostat announced on Thursday in Luxembourg. Economists had expected an average decline of 0.2 percent.
In November, sales rose by a revised 0.1 percent. An increase of 0.2 percent was initially determined here.
Compared to the same month last year, retail sales rose by 1.3 percent in December. An increase of 1.7 percent was expected here.
