In parking garage P1 at Schiphol, motorists have been standing in traffic jams for hours to get out of the garage. It is extra busy on the roads around Schiphol, the parking garages and at the Kiss & Ride in front of the terminal due to the train failure and road works. Complaints are pouring in on Twitter from motorists who are stuck in the parking garage.
A Schiphol spokesperson could not say how long the long delay in P1 and the parking garage under the WTC will last. The barriers at the exits are now permanently open, but that hardly helps to get the flow going.

Because the trains do not run, many travelers come by car or are picked up by someone with a car. In addition, there are road works on Ceintuurbaan Noord, Westelijke Randweg and Schiphol Boulevard. As a result, the entrances and exits at Schiphol, the Kiss & Ride in front of the departure halls and the routes to the parking garages have silted up.
Things got quieter in the car park after 9pm tonight. Schiphol has announced that traffic is now moving on better.
Motorists share their discomfort on Twitter, such as EenVandaag reporter Sander ‘t Sas:
