Reinier Robbemond back at Willem II as replacement Denny Landzaat

Reinier Robbemond returns to Tilburg with Willem II. 50-year-old Robbemond replaces the departed assistant Denny Landzaat in the technical staff of head coach Kevin Hofland. Landzaat will assist John van den Brom in Saudi Arabia at Al-Taawon.

According to a spokesperson for Willem II, the club management has reached an oral agreement with Robbemond, who was fired as head coach of De Graafschap two weeks ago. The former football player already worked as an assistant coach at Willem II between 2016 and 2018 and then even acted as interim head coach in the last few months after the departure of Erwin van de Looi. Robbemond then became an assistant to Mark van Bommel at PSV.

The Tilburg club, which is fighting relegation from the Eredivisie, fired trainer Fred Grim at the beginning of last month. His assistant Landzaat was ultimately responsible on the bench against Fortuna Sittard (1-0 loss), after which Hofland took over. Willem II was quite surprised a few days ago by the departure of Landzaat, who is embarking on a lucrative adventure in Saudi Arabia with Van den Brom.
