The “Stranger Things” finale helped Fleetwood Mac achieve a historic moment: “Landslide” made it into the charts for the first time 51 years after its release.
In 1975, Fleetwood Mac released the song “Landslide.” Now, more than five decades later, it made it into the charts for the first time with the help of a hit Netflix series.
A comeback – again
But Fleetwood Mac were never really gone anyway: “Dreams” made it back into the Billboard charts five years ago thanks to a viral TikTok video by a skateboarder. The former number one hit reached number twelve on the list again.
Now history repeats itself with another song from the band. This time it is “Landslide”. Unlike “Dreams,” this one didn’t go viral on social media, but instead received help from the mystery series “Stranger Things.” This ended on January 1, 2026 with the final eighth episode of the fifth season, in which the song was played.
Less successful in his time
“Landslide” appeared on the group’s album of the same name 51 years ago. The song, written by Stevie Nicks, did not make it into the charts at the time, and the album itself debuted at number 41 on the Billboard Top 100.
Since “Stranger Things” picked up the song, it has not only made it into the charts for the first time, but has also boomed on TikTok, with many users adding it to videos.

A few months before his death, the genius of the century had recorded two albums that once again show him in top form and will be re-released in the new year: “HITnRUN Phase I” and “Phase II”. These were to remain his last works. For “Phase I” he worked with singers such as Rita Ora and Lianne La Havas. “Phase II” shows him as a political observer of his time.

The March issue of MUSIKEXPRESS features a second world exclusive Prince single: “Baltimore” / “Stare”, two songs from HITnRUN Phase II. Prince wrote the ballad-like “Baltimore” under the impression of racist police violence in the USA. Both editions are also available HERE together in a bundle at the special price of EUR 19.90.
