It became known at the beginning of January that Melissa Kössler was leaving TSG Hoffenheim for the USA. It is now clear which club she will play for in the NWSL professional league.

The two-time German international Melissa Kössler is moving from TSG Hoffenheim to the American professional league NWSL. The 25-year-old joins Denver Summit FC, where she has signed a contract until 2027.

“Moving to the NWSL is an exciting step in my career,” said Kössler, according to a statement from her new club. In Denver, the attacker will play together with Lindsey Heaps, the captain of the US national team, who will also be new to the club from the summer.

With her six goals this season, Kössler was the Kraichgau women’s second best goalscorer behind Selina Cerci. Cerci, together with Wolfsburg’s Alexandra Popp, leads the top scorers list in the Bundesliga with ten goals each.
