Vzw Arcade provides help to families, children and young people in a disturbing living situation. Children and young people between four and eighteen years old can stay there. The Gistel facility has 44 beds. According to the new policy plan of Minister of Welfare, Caroline Gennez, they must always be full. But that is not feasible, because sometimes there is aggression.

“We are not just going to leave a bed available. If we make the choice not to fill a bed, we have a good reason for this,” says Tine Maes, general manager of the non-profit organization Arcade. “With that capacity management system, we feel less confidence in our sector from the government.”
