With a great finish to the race, Norway took over the women’s relay from Ruhpolding. Kirkeeide’s last lap was decisive, capable of recovering a good 11″4 from Vittozzi and outwitting the Italian right on the final straight. In third place was Sweden just 3″ behind, also in this case with Hanna Oeberg going all out on the last lap and sending France off the podium. Never in the history of a women’s relay has there been such a small gap between the top three teams. The German race was of a very high level, in which it was forbidden to make mistakes when shooting, considering that Germany, having turned once, finished sixth. Italy used just four reloads and also recorded some amazing shooting times with Wierer and Vittozzi.
