Conor Gallagher is reportedly set to move from Atlético Madrid to Tottenham Hotspur. According to The Athletic and Fabrizio Romano, Spurs have offered €40 million to sign the English midfielder – an offer the Rojiblancos are likely to accept. The 25-year-old Gallagher has informed Atlético of his desire to move to London.

Aston Villa are also said to have shown great interest in buying Gallagher. According to “The Athletic”, the Villans have withdrawn from advertising because they want to comply with the current financial rules in the Premier League. Romano, on the other hand, writes that Aston Villa had reached an agreement with the Spanish top club, but was eliminated from the race because Gallagher’s final commitment was still pending.
Atlético signed Gallagher from Chelsea in the summer of 2024 for 42 million euros – a sum that the club is now almost recouping. In the current season, the right-footer has appeared 27 times across all competitions (three goals, one assist), but has only been in the starting line-up nine times. His market value fell from 40 million to 35 million euros in the LaLiga update in December.
If Gallagher’s transfer to Tottenham goes through, he will be one of the most expensive this winter, tied with Brennan Johnson (for 40 million to Crystal Palace) in second place and behind the clear leader Antoine Semenyo (for 72 million to Man City).
