New number ten: BTSV brings in ex-HSV striker
January 12, 2026 – 3:55 p.mReading time: 2 minutes

A new man for the offensive: Eintracht Braunschweig is upgrading for the second half of the 2nd Bundesliga. A striker comes from the second division competition.
Shortly before the start of the second half of the 2nd Bundesliga Eintracht Braunschweig strengthened on the offensive. As BTSV announced on Monday afternoon, Faride Alidou is moving to Oker on loan from second division rivals 1. FC Kaiserslautern. The 24-year-old striker’s loan contract initially runs until the end of the season. The BTSV then has a purchase option.
Alidou will wear number ten on his back for Eintracht in the future. “Faride has everything you need for an offensive player. He is dynamic, clever in the half-spaces, has depth and is a goal threat,” says sports director Benjamin Kessel about the reasons for the transfer. “Despite his young age, he has already proven this in the Bundesliga, among other places.”
Alidou was trained in the youth ranks of Hamburger SV and made the leap into the professional ranks there in 2021. He then went to Kaiserslautern via Eintracht Frankfurt, 1. FC Köln and the Italian club Hellas Verona. Overall, he has, among other things, experience from 41 Bundesliga and three Serie A games.
At Kaiserslautern he has made 14 competitive appearances so far this season (one goal, two assists), but has increasingly only been in demand as a supplementary player. “Faride needs the self-confidence and the rhythm of the game again in order to bring his great qualities onto the pitch with conviction,” says Kessel. “We had very open discussions with him about this, in which he immediately signaled that he would get involved and definitely wanted to come to us. We are convinced that we can bring him back to his strengths.”
Eintracht had announced their farewell to top scorer Christian Conteh just hours earlier. The offensive player is moving to 1. FC Heidenheim in the Bundesliga. Read more about this here. Anas Bakhat, another offensive player, is currently in Braunschweig for trial training. All information about this can be found here.
