Staggering figures: 40 million euros stolen by phishers in one year in Antwerp alone, cyber expert gives tips: “Call your bank first, then Card Stop”

In the province of Antwerp, no less than 5.5 million euros was stolen by phishers in December. Good for 649 victims. In one year, this amounts to a staggering loot of almost 40 million euros. “There is no need for shame. Even company directors, doctors and bank employees allow themselves to be caught,” says Christophe Van Bortel, cyber expert at the Federal Police. He gives tips if you have been scammed yourself.
