    Jeanmonnot continues

The Frenchwoman has the shooting range to herself for now, but has to reload twice. Grotian starts with three mistakes and fights against the penalty lap – but she can’t avoid that, there is an extra lap. Meanwhile, the other nations are shooting significantly better. Magnusson can just about avoid the penalty.

    Field already far apart

Very untypically for the second round, the field was already very spread out, which definitely has something to do with Lou Jeanmonnot’s fast pace and the difficult conditions. Switzerland is already well behind after one penalty.

Magnusson with a lot of time lost

Very unfortunate for the Swede, whose hand stop came loose or loosened. As a result, she lost a lot of time, but still shot well afterwards. On the track, Grotian is running in second place behind Jeanmonnot – but almost 20 seconds behind.

    1. Shooting

  • 2:31 p.m

    First shooting

Jeanmonnot and Magnusson arrive at the shooting range with a lead of about one spare round. Meanwhile, there was a fall from Bulgaria along the way. Jeanmonnot shoots quickly and hits everything; Magnusson’s rifle is probably defective. Grotian also gets through perfectly, Zdouc runs out in fifth place after a spare.

    Jeanmonnot and Magnusson ahead

Jeanmonnot and the Swede Magnusson run a whole unusual first lap; they are already ten seconds ahead of the rest of the field. Normally the field always converges at a moderate pace, but that is probably too slow for the Frenchwoman and the Swede.

    Start of the race

  • 2:25 p.m

    It’s starting!

Here we go, 19 nations are setting off. The conditions are anything but easy, with almost -10 degrees and deep snow there is also a lot of wind – there were a lot of mistakes in the men’s pursuit earlier, but the women now have spares.

    How far ahead is Switzerland?

The Swiss finished one place behind Austria in Hochfilzen. They were at least able to avoid the penalty loop, but they also had to reload ten times and there were also gaps in the cross-country ski trail. The line-up for today’s season consists of Lena Häcki-Groß, Aita Gasparin, Lea Meier and Amy Baserga.

  • Austria with Anna Gandler

At the home World Cup in Hochfilzen things didn’t go well for the Austrians on the shooting range – two penalties and 13 spare rounds were simply too many, and in the end they finished eighth on paper. Dunja Zdouc starts today, followed by Anna Gandler, Lea Rothschopf and Anna Juppe.

  • The German team

After the podium finish in the last relay race, Germany, supported by the home crowd, is also hoping for something today. Franziska Preuß is the final runner, before those responsible decided on Selina Grotian as the starting runner, Julia Tannheimer in second position and Janina Hettich-Walz in third position. The shooting range has been a major source of uncertainty recently, especially for Tannheimer and Grotian.

  • Many nations are among the favorites

There have been two relays so far this season, and the podium was completely different twice. The nation from France won the opener in Östersund ahead of Italy and the surprise team from the Czech Republic. In Hochfilzen the Swedes were able to prevail ahead of Norway and Germany, so the group of favorites for today’s victory is large. The French lead the national rankings ahead of Sweden and Norway and are sending Jeanmonnot, Michelon, Braisaz-Bouchet and Julia Simon onto the track today.

  • Welcome!

Welcome to the women’s 4x6km relay! The starting shot will be given in Oberhof at 2:25 p.m.
