Four weeks before the start of the Olympics, there are concerns about Magdalena Egger. The reason for this is a fall on Saturday. Her right knee was particularly affected.
Magdalena Egger was seriously injured during the World Cup downhill in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee. The 24-year-old Austrian lost control in the panoramic curve, took off and crashed into the safety net at high speed. Helpers had to free them.
Egger was initially able to get up and tried to cross the finish line alone – but gave up the attempt, shaking his head, and sat down in the snow.
She kept holding her right knee. She was finally transported away by helicopter. The departure was interrupted for around 20 minutes.
The speed specialist from Vorarlberg had previously secured second place in St. Moritz.
