The elderly person who died from strangulation on a chair in a care home in Turku was the aunt of presenter Ella Kanninen.

Be the first to report on it Ilta-Sanomat.

– I am very shocked. This case has shocked us all, Kanninen tells Iltalehte from Italy.

He had received information about the passing away from his father.

– Even the death itself was sad, but then my father told me how everything happened.

Turku Sanomat reported today, Friday, that a 79-year-old woman strangled to death in Esper’s Hoivakoti Otso in Turku on Wednesday. He was tied up.

– When I heard how he had died, I was really shocked. I experienced injustice for human rights.

– In Finland, there is a lot of talk about the care of the elderly and the care of people with memory problems, so this is probably an extreme example of what can happen. I hope something similar never happens again.

Kanninen’s aunt was 79 years old and she suffered from dementia. Physically, however, the aunt was in good shape.

– He was athletic, the disease was in his mind and his body did not leave him. This is completely incomprehensible.

The aunt no longer recognized Kannis, but was happy to meet her relatives despite her memory disorder.

– When I was small and younger, we were in contact a lot. He has visited me in different parts of the world, in recent years we saw each other a little less often.

The cover has a related wish.

– I hope this sparks a discussion. This can’t happen!
