Christian Gisi will be the new CEO of the Swiss outdoor outfitter Exped AG at the beginning of February. The Zurich-based company announced this on Thursday. Gisi’s appointment had already been announced last autumn.
In the future, he will form the management team at Exped together with Betti Frangi and Marc Raillard. As CEO, he will have “final decision-making authority” within the three-member board, according to a statement. The founders Andi and Heidi Brun will therefore “continue to work in the company as owners and members of the supervisory board”.
According to his future employer, Gisi has extensive experience in the outdoor industry. He worked at the Mammut Sports Group for more than ten years, including seven years as Head of Marketing & Communications. Most recently, he was head of marketing and communications and a member of the university management at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences.
Andi and Heidi Brun explained the personnel decision: “Christian immediately convinced us with his emphatic, open manner and his proven outdoor skills,” they explained in a statement. He is “not a lone fighter who just tears everything down, but a good observer who analyzes, consults with the team and enforces the decisions made in a collegial manner.”
