According to sources around the midfielder, Ajax will receive 15 million euros. That amount could increase by a few million euros due to bonuses and resale percentages.
The 23-year-old Taylor says goodbye to the Amsterdam club after more than fifteen years. He saw a transfer to FC Porto fail last summer, because Ajax asked a lot more money for him. He is under contract with Ajax until mid-2027.
After the last competition match against NEC, Taylor said that he was open to a foreign adventure. Ajax has many other options for Taylor’s position. Sean Steur, Yourig Regeer, Oscar Gloukh and Kian Fitz-Jim can also play on the left midfield. Lazio has so far performed disappointingly this season and is ninth in Serie A.
Transfer market
Ajax wants to strengthen itself in two positions this month. The club is looking for a controlling midfielder and a left back. There is a possibility that Ajax will rent players for those positions. The new technical director Jordi Cruijff will probably start in February. He will be looking for a new head coach.
Ajax is currently led by interim coach Fred Grim. The current number three in the Premier League resumes the competition on Sunday with an away match against Telstar.
