In the last weeks of December, I, the grandfather of twins who have just turned four, read children’s books about (an often white) Christmas. On Friday, January 2, I stand hand-in-hand with them in front of the window, looking outside, where the first snowflakes are fluttering down.
Suddenly my granddaughter asks: “Grandpa, is it really Christmas?”
