Reinforcement for weak offensive

West Ham United have presented their second winter transfer and have once again invested a tidy sum. Center forward Taty Castellanos joins the Hammers from Lazio on a four-and-a-half-year contract with an option to extend until 2031. The Londoners are reportedly putting 29 million euros on the table for the 27-year-old’s services, which is 2 million euros more than for Niclas Füllkrug in the summer of 2024. The transfer fee for Castellanos is the second largest so far this winter. Attacker Pablo had previously been signed by Gil Vicente for 23 million euros.
“I am very happy because this is a very important challenge for me personally and I am here to do my part and help the team as much as possible,” said Castellanos. “I hope that I can give everything to the fans. I have always defended the jersey of each team with the greatest responsibility and I want to tell them that I will give everything to defend this jersey and of course to achieve our goals day after day. That is the most important thing.”
With only 21 goals after 20 match days, West Ham has one of the weakest offenses in the Premier League, so they added two more attacks. No club has invested more in this transfer window so far. In return, Füllkrug left the club on loan to AC Milan and right winger Luís Guilherme went to Sporting Lisbon for 14 million euros. The Hammers are currently in 18th place, a relegation spot.
