“Perry Archangelo Bamonte. My heart, my soul. I have had the honor of spending more than half of my life with you. I am so lucky to have the privilege of being called your wife. I am so lucky to have loved you. I hope you will come after me when my time comes to meet God. I will love you forever. Donna xxx.”
With these words, Donna Bamonte says goodbye to her husband Perry Bamonte on Facebook. The The Cure guitarist and keyboardist died over Christmas (the exact date is not known) at the age of 65. “After a short illness,” as reported on the Cure website.
Donna Bamonte captioned her Facebook post with 41 pictures showing the couple from many stages of their relationship. Before the altar; Perry with a sheep; with a dog; on a horse, in front of a stable – he must have been a big animal lover. Plus holiday impressions and pictures of him on the Cure stage.

Had on Friday The Cure on their homepage Perry Bamonte’s death reported: “It is with great sadness that we confirm the death of our great friend and bandmate Perry Bamonte, who passed away at home over Christmas after a short illness,” the band wrote. “Quiet, intense, intuitive, consistent and immensely creative, ‘Teddy’ was a warm and indispensable part of The Cure’s story.”
And further on the band’s page: “As someone who looked after the band from 1984 to 1989, he became a permanent member of The Cure in 1990, played guitar, six-string bass and keyboard on the albums ‘Wish’, ‘Wild Mood Swings’, ‘Bloodflowers’, ‘Acoustic Hits’ and ‘The Cure’ and also played over 400 concerts in 14 years.”
“He returned to The Cure in 2022 and played a further 90 shows, some of the best in the band’s history, culminating in the ‘Songs of a Lost World’ concert in London on November 1, 2024. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his entire family. He will be missed very, very much.”
