No surprises in the match between Verona and Grottazzolina: 3-1 for Rana, who continue their run in the top rankings. The world champions from Perugia beat Cisterna in just over an hour. Cuneo and Milan are also ok
CUCINE LUBE CIVITANOVA – GAS SALES BLUENERGY PIACENZA (25-21, 28-26, 18-25, 25-21)
—
A super Bovolenta, top scorer, and a more brilliant attack are not enough for Piacenza to score points in Civitanova. Lube confirms itself as unbeatable in its league, achieving a platinum victory which marks the overtaking of the Emilians in the standings. Driven by a Loeppky MVP and an excellent performance on serve, with Nikolov, Bottolo and Gargiulo infallible snipers, Civitanova, thanks to this fundamental, was able to repel the rise of Gas Sales who had to regret a second set lost at the end after always leading them. This time the Boninfante family derby is the prerogative of Mattia who thus equalizes the scores with his technical father from Piacenza.
Civitanova: Nikolov 21 points. Muri team 5. Ace team 14. Gargiulo 4 ace, Bottolo 4 ace, Nikolov 3 ace
Piacenza: Bovolenta 26 points. Team Blocks 5. Team Aces 5.
RANA VERONA – YUASA BATTERY GROTTAZZOLINA 3-0 (25-21, 25-19, 25-16)
—
Spin without surprises, with Rana achieving another success to continue the race in the top ranking. Grottazzolina lasts just one set, the first, when it holds its own against the highly rated Scala players. Then the Venetians raise the level of their game with the serve and the block that breaks the increasingly weak resistance of Ortenzi’s team which suddenly gives in to the superiority of the Rana. Among the hosts, Cortesia and Sani also continued their performances, while among the players from the Marche, Petkov was saved and asserted himself with the block.
Verona: Darlan 15 points. Team blocks 10. Team Ace 7. Darlan 3 blocks, Nedeljkovic 3 blocks.
Grottazzolina: Magalini 10 points. Blocks team 4. Ace team 1. Petkov 3 blocks.
MILAN-PADUA 3-1 (25-15, 25-15, 26-28, 28-26)
—
Two sets of domination by Milan, then the real match begins in which the hosts and Padova play at good levels, creating two very balanced fractions. Masulovic and an excellent Polo (11 points with 80 percent in attack) extended the match, but the quality of the usual Reggers gave the three points to Allianz who, thanks to the complete success, put the arrow in the league and rose to sixth place, overtaking Piacenza.
Milan: Reggers 28 points. Team Aces: 7. Team Blocks: 12. Nets 3 aces. Di Martino 4 blocks, Reggers 3 blocks Padova: Masulovic 14 points. Team Aces: 8. Team Blocks: 10. Held 3 aces. Masulovic 3 aces and 3 blocks
CISTERNA-PERUGIA 0-3 (14-25, 20-25, 20-25)
—
The world champions from Perugia celebrated the title in their first “Italian” outing by dominating the match at Cisterna. For the Umbrians it was a real blitz, with the case closed in just over an hour, managing a match that was never in question. The spotlight is on Ben Tara, the most prolific scorer of the match, and on Russo, who returned to the starting lineup and finished with 11 points. But it was all Perugia that played a flawless game, focusing mainly on solid and continuous blocking and defence, capable of repelling the attacks of Cisterna captained by Barotto.
Cisterna: Barotto 11 points. Team Ace: 2. Team Blocks: 5 Perugia: Ben Tara 16 points. Team Ace: 1. Team Blocks: 7. Russian 4 blocks
MONZA-TRENTO 0-3 (21-25, 15-25, 22-25)
—
For Trento comes the tenth consecutive success and the certainty of ending the calendar year in command, equal to Perugia but with a better set ratio. Authoritative performance from Mendez’s team, which dominated the match for two sets and which in the third set came back from 15-19 thanks to clear direction from Sbertoli, MVP of the match, and Ramon as the match’s best scorer. At Monza, Padar is the loose cannon, but it is not enough to create problems for Itas in the match that will be repeated on 29 December, this time with reversed pitches, valid as the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup.
Monza: Padar 15 points. Team Aces: 3. Team Blocks: 5 Trento: Ramon 13 points. Team Ace: 6. Team Blocks: 4. Michieletto 3 blocks
MODENA-CUNEO 3-0 (25-20, 25-17, 25-15)
—
Cuneo had a flash at the start, approaching the match better and with an ace from Zaysev they made it 9-4. It is practically the only moment in which the guests remain ahead in a challenge that only speaks Modenese. After a few minutes Valsa changes gear and there is nothing left for the opponents to do, buried under Buchegger’s nine aces and Anzani’s blocks. Feral tries to stop the yellow-blue train, but without luck, with Modena firmly in fourth place in the rankings and the only team left within reach of the Trento-Perugia-Verona group that dictates the law in the Super League.
Modena: Buchegger 19 points. Team Aces: 14. Team Blocks: 6. Buchegger 9 aces. Anzani 4 walls
Cuneo: Feral 12 points. Team Aces: 3. Team Blocks: 2. Zaytsev 3 aces
