Government provides clarity about ‘penny index’: limitation of index for gross wages above 4,000 euros possible only before 2027

The federal government reached an agreement last night around 1 am on the program law, which implements the measures of the budget agreement. It was decided, among other things, that the infamous ‘penny index’ will not be permanent. People with a salary above 4,000 euros gross may not receive a lower indexation until 2027, reports VRT NWS.
