Real Madrid loaned offensive talent Endrick to Olympique Lyon in the winter transfer window. On Tuesday, the French confirmed the deal, which had been considered secure for weeks. According to reports, an agreement had already been reached in November. As OL officially confirmed, the commitment has been agreed until the end of the season and will cost the club a loan fee of up to one million euros.
Because Endrick is hardly getting any playing time with the Royals this season, a loan should help. The Bundesliga was also considered a possible destination for a loan move, but now it will be the seven-time French champions for the 19-year-old Brazilian.
Even the interest of Manchester United, who are looking for a new striker after ex-Leipzig player Benjamin Sesko’s knee injury, was unable to change Endrick’s decision. It was said that he sees a higher chance of a regular place at Lyon. For Endrick it is important to create as high a chance as possible of taking part in the 2026 World Cup. After 14 appearances for the Seleção, he was no longer nominated by his former Real coach Carlo Ancelotti.
Endrick moved from Palmeiras to Real Madrid in the summer of 2024 for 47.5 million euros – only an 18-year-old has ever been more expensive. The Brazilian signed a contract there until 2030 and quickly increased his market value to 60 million euros. After just eleven minutes in the current league season, eleven minutes in the Champions League and an additional appearance in the cup, this valuation fell from to 35 million euros over the course of the season – so he now has to share the place as the most valuable teenage center forward in the world with another player.
