1. FC Köln started the season very well, but the last few games have been rather disappointing. Now new arrivals should be the solution.

After the disappointing end of the year, 1. FC Köln is under pressure. Six games without a win have caused the Rhinelanders to slip to eleventh place in the Bundesliga. There are only four points ahead of the relegation place. In order to keep the class, three new ones could come in the winter. According to “Bild”, sports director Thomas Kessler and coach Lukas Kwasniok are thinking about reinforcements for both wings and the central defense.

Particularly interesting: According to the “Bild” report, an ex-Cologne native is one of the candidates. Central defender Sebastiaan Bornauw hardly gets a chance at Leeds in the Premier League and was only briefly on the pitch twice. The 26-year-old was already active for FC from 2019 to 2021. A loan could be possible.

In addition to Bornauw, Paderborn’s Calvin Brackelmann is also considered an option, and two rail players are also being sought. Reason for this: weak performance on both flanks and personnel bottlenecks. Only newcomer Sebastian Sebulonsen was convincing on the right. On the left, offensive player Jakub Kaminski recently acted as an emergency solution.
