American singer Barry Manilow, 82, says he has lung cancer. The world star has published an official announcement about it on his Instagram account.
In the press release, he says that he recently had bronchitis that lasted six weeks.
After the illness, the doctor ordered the singer to have an MRI to make sure everything was fine.
– The magnetic resonance imaging revealed a cancerous tumor in my left lung, which must be removed, he writes.

In the same announcement, he regrets that his Christmas Gift of Love charity concert has to be canceled due to the upcoming surgery to remove the tumor.
– The doctors do not believe that the cancer has spread, and further tests are currently being carried out to confirm the diagnosis. That’s all. No chemotherapy. No radiation therapy. Just chicken soup as well Lucy and me – renewals, he reassures.
He says that the only follow-up procedure is a month’s recovery time, which is why he has to postpone the concerts in January.
