    Svea Stoldt

Tooor for Hamburger SV, 0:1 by Svea Stoldt
A dream goal to take the lead! Hillebrand moves the ball slightly inwards on the right corner of the box, but Bergsvand gets in between with the tip of his foot and puts the ball perfectly in front of Stoldt. It doesn’t take long and takes off powerfully from a half-right position and around 18 meters. The ball flies perfectly into the top left corner and Johannes is powerless.

Schuldt wants to hit a back pass forward, but hits an opponent and the ricochet flies in front of the empty goal. However, no Wolfsburg player gets the ball and HSV clears.

    Kick-off of the 2nd half

  • 45.

    7:20 p.m

    Half-time conclusion:
At the break it was still 0-0 between VfL Wolfsburg and Hamburg HSV. The she-wolves took control from the start and didn’t let it go for 45 minutes. However, the hosts lacked ideas and real opportunities were in short supply. But that was also because the Rothosen did well defensively and only allowed very little. The guests didn’t pose any danger offensively, but they did cause some unrest with two corner kicks. There has to be a lot more from the favorites from Wolfsburg in the second half. Anything other than a win wouldn’t be enough.

    End of 1st half

  • 45.

    19:14

Zicai comes down the left wing with speed and then moves inside. She doesn’t find a passing station and passes back again. Shortly afterwards the half-time whistle sounds.

  • 42.

    19:13

Hamburg tries to make the game quick and a ball is extended into Meyer’s path in midfield. But VfL quickly gets behind the ball and nips the attack in the bud.

  • 39.

    19:11

Lattwein receives the ball on the left side of the box and wants to finish from the turn. But she doesn’t hit the ball cleanly and flies far to the right.

  • 36.

    7:07 p.m

Wolfsburg has been far too harmless here so far and loses the ball too often in the build-up. Things aren’t running optimally yet, but that’s also down to HSV, which is very compact and keeps the rooms tight.

  • 33.

    7:04 p.m

Things get dangerous again after a Hamburg corner! Büchele brings the ball with a lot of cutting from the left. At the first post, Johannes resolutely punches the ball away with one hand.

  • 30.

    19:02

Huth sensitively chips a free kick from the left into the right corner. Popp comes running, but her powerful header doesn’t hit the goal.

  • 27.

    6:59 p.m

HSV always gets into duels well and moves well. So far, the penultimate team in the table has been doing very well defensively. However, the Rothosen were not yet able to set any accents in attack.

  • 24.

    6:55 p.m

VfL is clearly superior here and has significantly more of the game. Nevertheless, there is still a lack of brilliant ideas.

  • 21.

    18:52

The first good chance! Lattwein runs free centrally in front of the box and gets the ball. She goes two meters forward and finishes freely. Schuldt deflects her half-high shot to the left to the side.

  • 19.

    6:50 p.m

A cross from the right flies to the right pentagon, where Popp is ready. However, the cross comes a little behind her, so she can’t direct the ball out of the goal with her head and heads it clear.

  • 17.

    6:48 p.m

Endemann gets the ball on the right in the box and crosses directly into the middle. HSV keeper Schuldt is attentive and catches the cross easily.

  • 14.

    6:45 p.m

VfL is now pushing HSV deeper into their own half and the crosses into the center are now becoming more dangerous. However, the she-wolves have not yet created any clear chances.

  • 11.

    6:40 p.m

    Pauline Machtens

Yellow card for Pauline Machtens (Hamburger SV)
Machtens comes in clearly too late with her tackle in midfield against Wedemeyer and sees the first yellow card of the game.

  • 10.

    6:39 p.m

A Hamburg corner comes sharply from the right into the five. Johannes catches the ball, but then drops it. The ball is free for a moment, but no one can get to the ball and Wolfsburg clears.

  • 7.

    6:38 p.m

So far at VfL everything has been on the left side and Zicai is always being looked for and found. But the hosts haven’t found a real gap yet.

  • 4.

    18:34

As expected, Wolfsburg took control right from the start and determined the game. But the Wolves can’t get in front of the opponent’s goal yet.

    Game start

  • 18:24

After the defeat against Bayern, Liése Brancão only changed her starting lineup in one position. Meyer starts in the attack instead of Brunnthaler, who is not in the squad today.

  • 18:12

During the week, Wolfsburg lost 2-1 to Chelsea in the Champions League. In comparison, Stephan Lerch changed his starting eleven to seven positions. Only keeper Johannes, Bergsvand, Huth and Popp play again from the start.

  • 5:55 p.m

HSV was only promoted this year and is fighting to stay in the league. Hamburg only collected seven points in the second half of the season and are in second-to-last place. The latest results also leave little room for hope. On matchday four they got their first and so far only win against RB Leipzig. This was followed by seven defeats and two draws. Last week the Rothosen lost 6-0 to Bayern and now the next top club is about to follow suit. “Wolfsburg is an extremely strong team with a similar quality to FC Bayern,” said HSV coach Liése Brancão.

  • 5:40 p.m

Things have been going great for the Wolves in the Bundesliga so far and they have won their last three games in a row. Head coach Stephan Lerch’s team is currently in second place with 31 points, but is already six points behind FC Bayern, who visit Bayer Leverkusen tomorrow. In the first leg, Wolfsburg led 3-1, but HSV struck again shortly before the final whistle and scored 3-3 at the start of the season. That’s why the coach knows how dangerous the newcomer can be. “We expect a compact defense with which they will try to allow as little as possible by working consistently against the ball and to use their chances efficiently. It will be exciting to see what plan they develop specifically against us,” said Lerch about today’s guests.

  • 5:29 p.m

Welcome to the 14th matchday of the Women’s Bundesliga. VfL Wolfsburg and Hamburger SV meet at 6:30 p.m. The game is led by Anna-Lena Heidenreich.
