Perkz is defeated by his ex-team: With a dominant performance, G2 Esports eliminated Team Vitality from the playoffs of the European League of Legends LEC.
“Winning against Perkz is always exhilarating,” said G2’s Rasmus “Caps” Winther in the post-series interview. “Especially when you’ve played in the same team for so long.”
Entering the series with a win over Excel Esports, Vitality also seized direct control. Then, midway through the game, G2 took over and claimed their first win of the best-of-five series. G2 also clearly won the next game.
The third game meant a match point for G2, but the team fell behind early on. But the super team around Luka “Perkz” Perković didn’t manage to close the game. Then G2 fought back doggedly: The game lasted 46 minutes and a multitude of team fights before G2 won the series 3-0.
“At the moment we are not as dominant as we want to be. But I am sure that we will come back,” said Caps with a view to the upcoming duels. G2 meets Misfits Gaming in the next round.
