In Hamburg, Frankfurt’s Rasmus Kristensen fell unconscious. An opponent immediately rushes to help.
A violent collision on the pitch led to a brief moment of shock in Hamburg’s Volksparkstadion. In the second half, Eintracht defender Rasmus Kristensen and HSV player Miro Muheim crashed into each other – Kristensen remained dazed on the ground. HSV defender Luka Vušković reacted immediately and administered first aid, pulling Kristensen’s tongue out of his throat.
Eintracht coach Dino Toppmöller gave the all-clear after both clubs drew 1-1 (1-1). “He’s fine,” said the 45-year-old after the game, but spoke of a shock.
Eintracht captain Robin Koch said of the scene: “You’re worried, even if you’re not that close.” He spoke to Kristensen briefly on the pitch, “but he was already conscious and clear. I now hope, as I said, that there is nothing worse.”
Both players were able to get up again shortly afterwards. Kristensen was substituted a little later – also because of slight adductor problems. Toppmöller left it open whether the Dane would undergo a more detailed investigation into the collision. The personnel situation at Hessians is already tense.
Toppmöller expressly praised the behavior of Vušković, who “quickly recognized the situation and reacted well”.
