After several long discussions in the municipal council, the entire Bruges opposition is now demanding an extra council in January. “The petition against the new policy now has more than 5,600 signatures. This proves that there is a lot of criticism,” said Groen, Vlaams Belang, Open VLD and N-VA.
During the previous municipal council, the majority voted down the request to postpone the waste policy and come up with a new, adapted and supported proposal. The city council now wants to hold a committee on Wednesday, January 21, but the opposition does not agree to this.
