On December 17, 2025, the Chamber of Deputies debated in a special session the General Budget 2026, a key project of the Javier Milei government that anticipated 10.1% inflation, 5% GDP growth and fiscal surplus, with a focus on reducing public spending and non-targeted subsidies.

While deputy Luciana Gabriela Muñoz (Neuquén, La Libertad Avanza) defended the initiative – in her legislative debut after assuming office on December 3 as Nadia Márquez’s replacement –, highlighting progress in macroeconomic stability and social benefits, the official broadcast captured a viral moment: deputy Sergio “Tronco” Figliuolo looked directly at the camera, narrowing his eyes with an overacted expression of suspicion, as if he had just realized that he had they filmed

The clip quickly went viral on networks, generating memes and laughter in the middle of a marathon session that ended with the approval of the budget in general (132 votes in favor, 97 against and 17 abstentions), although with the elimination of the controversial Chapter XI on cuts in universities and disabilities.

Figliuolo, a 38-year-old journalist and former host of the streaming Neura along with Alejandro Fantino, also assumed his seat for Buenos Aires (LLA) on December 3, 2025, after being elected in October on the Libertarian list. Before the session, he had already generated controversy with publications on networks, such as an image generated by AI where he appeared arriving at Congress with the head of a baboon, in the style of the Joker, which accumulated thousands of interactions.

With his media, controversial and humorous style, the “Tronco” is already positioned as one of the most talked about characters of the new Congress, capable of stealing attention even with a simple glance.
