The death notice of actress Elina Salo has been published in Helsingin Sanomat on Thursday.
A picture of a swan is attached to the notice. A poem by the English writer Walter Savage Landor is also attached to it Dying Speech of an Old Philosopher.
I Strove with none
for none was worth my strife:
Nature I loved, and, next to Nature, Art:
I warmed both hands before the fire of Life;
It sinks; and I am ready to leave
The death notice was signed by Salo’s relatives.

Salo lived for many years in France. According to the death notice, Salo died in Helsinki on October 23 in Helsinki.
Salo was 89 years old when he died.
Born in Sipoo in 1936, Salo had a long career as an actor.
In the 1960s, Salo acted in the Komisario Palmu films directed by Matti Kassila. Commissioner Palmu’s mistake (1960) and Gas, inspector Palmu! (1961) made him a popular and critically acclaimed actor.
Salo is also remembered among other things Moominvalley stories – as the original voice of Pikku Myi.
