“The most important thing for us is that the suspects have been held accountable.” This is what the relatives of the four children who died in the accident with a Stint on a railway crossing in Oss say in response to the demand for punishment from the Public Prosecution Service.

At the end of a long court session, the Public Prosecution Service demanded prison sentences of five years and four months against both Stint entrepreneurs Peter Noorlander and Edwin Renzen and fines of 225,000 and 135,000 euros against their companies.

Demonstrate what was harmful about Stint
Through a spokesperson for the Family, the relatives say it is important that the prosecutors have explained what was wrong with the electric cart. “That everything was said out loud, everything that is harmful to the Stint and all the lies about it from the suspects. It shocks us very much how the suspects apparently thought about safety. A punishment is never in balance with the consequences for us, so it will never be sufficient. We will therefore leave that to the court.”

The criminal case will continue on Tuesday with the plea from the lawyers of the suspects, Geert-Jan and Carry Knoops. On Wednesday, on the last day of the hearing, the suspects will have the last word and the court will announce the sentencing date.
