Sebastian Aho has missed points in five consecutive matches.
Six games were played in the NHL between Sunday and Monday. The Finnish players were left without power points this time, but there were still plenty of events.
Finnish time on Saturday morning, the league was shaken by one of the biggest player transfers of the season, when the 2024 Norris Trophy winner Quinn Hughes traded from the Vancouver Canucks to the Minnesota Wild.
The trade immediately made headlines around the hockey world, with the American defenseman making his Wild debut the night before Monday.
The debut in the new club could not have gone much better. Minnesota crushed the Boston Bruins 6-2, and Hughes opened his goal account in a Wild jersey. The star defender scored his team’s 4–0 goal in the first minute of the third period and was otherwise prominently featured in the game.

The 26-year-old Hughes worked the hardest among the Wild players in the match, and accumulated 26.55 minutes. The brightest star of the evening was still the front image of Minnesota’s attack Kirill Kaprizovwho forged the powers 2+1.
At the same time, Kaprizov continued to rise in the club’s historical statistics. The Russian star has now completed 205 goals in the Wild’s shirt, which puts him on the level Mikko Koivun with the club’s all-time goalscorer in second place. Above is no more Marián Gáborík (219).

Aho’s dry streak continues
The Carolina Hurricanes claimed a 3–2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers in the night round after a penalty shootout. Sebastian Aho went without power points in the match, and it was already the fifth game in a row in which the Finnish forward went without points.
The biggest architect of the Hurricanes’ victory was found between the posts. The team shone with the goal Brandon Buswho made 24 saves in the match. The 27-year-old American guard has burst onto the NHL map and continued his wild winning streak.
Bussi has now won nine consecutive starts and has recorded 11 wins and only one loss for the season. His goals conceded average is a convincing 2.05 and his save percentage is 91.1. At the same time Bussi side Cam Ward’s a club record for the longest winning streak in Hurricanes and Whalers history.
What is particularly extraordinary about Buss’ story is that the Hurricanes picked him off the transfer list in October. Before that, he hadn’t even played a game in the NHL. Now he has quickly become one of Carolina’s biggest early-season success stories, and the move already looks like a real hit at this point.
Sebastian Aho is having a dry season. PDO
