The women of FC Bayern Munich dismantle Hamburger SV into its individual parts. A dream goal from the DFB captain paves the way to a sweeping victory.

The women of FC Bayern Munich have impressively consolidated their top position in the Bundesliga. With a clear 6-0 win against Hamburger SV on their home campus, they remain six points ahead of their first pursuer VfL Wolfsburg.

After the 2-2 draw in the Champions League at Atlético Madrid, Bayern showed a strong performance. DFB captain Giulia Gwinn, who missed a penalty in the Spanish capital, opened the flood of goals with a fantastic goal in the 16th minute. The English European champion Georgia Stanway made it 2-0 with a penalty kick (27th minute), before DFB attacker Klara Bühl made it 3-0 shortly before half-time (45th + 3).

The dominance of Munich continued in the second half. An own goal from HSV player Victoria Schulz (47th) and a goal from Pernille Harder (63rd) increased the score to 5-0. With Lea Schüller, a third German national player completed the half-dozen (85th). Mia Büchele had the best chance for Hamburger SV in the first half, but her long-range shot only hit the post (32′).

With this clear success, the Bayern women remain on course for the championship. Coach José Barcala’s team has a crucial game in the Champions League next week. The team will meet Valerenga IF on Wednesday (from 9 p.m. in the live ticker on t-online) and will then want to secure a direct entry into the quarter-finals. The Bayern women have already qualified for the play-offs.
