Florian Notz achieved the best result of the season so far for German cross-country skiers at the World Cup in Davos. The 33-year-old ran the 10 km freestyle in twelfth place, missing the top 10 by 17 seconds.
After a strong final phase in Switzerland, Notz was almost a minute behind winner Einar Hedegart, who led a Norwegian five-fold victory. Norway’s top star Johannes Hösflot Kläbo only finished fourth and, as in his surprising quarter-final exit, missed the podium after stumbling in the sprint on Saturday.
