Joao Almeida will be the captain of Uae-XRG at the Giro d’Italia 2026. The Portuguese, born in 1998, had revealed himself in the pink race of 2020, when he had been in command for a long time before finishing in fourth place: then he placed sixth in 2021, and third in 2023, before finishing in second place in the 2025 Vuelta behind Jonas Vingegaard.
