After the market value update in the Greek Super League 1, there is a change at the top of the most valuable players. Olympiacos Piraeus’ top talent Christos Mouzakitis overtakes Giannis Konstantelias with an increase of 10 million to 25 million euros. On the other hand, there is repeatedly a small minus for ex-Frankfurt player Philipp Max, now in the service of Panathinaikos Athens.
The 18-year-old Mouzakitis is now one of the top 10 most highly valued professionals in his age group. He was recently voted “Golden Boy Web” 2025 by “Tuttosport” by his fans. Clubs such as Manchester United and Arsenal FC are said to have already scouted the Athens native, and the seven-time Greek international has also been linked to Borussia Dortmund in the past.
According to reports, Konstantelias was about to move to VfB Stuttgart last summer before PAOK put a stop to the transfer. This did not affect his performance: the attacking midfielder recorded seven goals and six assists in 19 competitive games. For the 22-year-old it’s about 3 million euros up to 20 million euros. Lorenzo Pirola from Olympiakos will also receive an increase of 3 million euros (to 9 million euros).
While Mouzakitis and Konstantelias lead Super League 1 with estimates of 25 million and 20 million euros respectively, their first pursuers also recorded increases. Piraeus goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis climbs by 2 million to 15 million euros, as does teammate Santiago Hezze to 14 million euros.
Of the three German legionnaires, the only thing that changes is Max, whose market value drops from 900,000 to 700,000 euros. This is mainly due to age-related reasons, but also due to injuries. Due to various injuries, the 32-year-old has not played at all this season. It is his fifth loss in a row.
This is how transfer market market values work
The transfer market market values are created taking into account various pricing models as well as a strong involvement of the transfer market community, which deals with the values in detailed discussions. The transfer market market values cannot generally be equated with the transfer fees actually paid.
The goal is not to predict a price, but rather an expected value. When determining the market value, both individual transfer modalities and situational conditions are relevant to a certain extent. Examples of this are listed here. Transfermarkt does not use an algorithm (for detailed market value definition).
