Musician Pepe Willberg, 78, commented on his criminal suspicion on Facebook on his official fan account.
Willberg denies in the article that he ran over the cyclist on Friday.
– Just so you know, I haven’t crashed, and I didn’t run over anyone. I heard a scratching sound but didn’t detect anything. The car had a small scratch near the back door when the police contacted us. The sun was glaring, so my speed was quiet. The lights were green. I didn’t see anything special in the mirrors. I didn’t realize something had happened. I am of course very sorry if the cyclist is somehow injured in the situation. Ilta-Sanomat reported on Fridaythat the musician ran over a cyclist in Helsinki on Friday. The police confirmed to Ilta-Sanom that there has been an accident between a cyclist and a car in Alppila, Helsinki, after which the driver left the scene before the authorities arrived. The cyclist was sent to hospital.
According to the police, the driver is suspected of grossly endangering traffic safety.
