A fire briefly broke out in an outbuilding of the distribution center of the EDCO company on Helmondsingel in Deurne on Wednesday evening. The Safety Region reported this around ten o’clock.
According to the Safety Region, it appeared that a battery in a rack had caught fire. The battery is immersed in a container with water by the fire brigade in order to respond safely.
The outbuilding where the fire broke out is twenty by ten square meters in size. Clouds of smoke billowed from above the fence next to the distribution center.
Two fire engines from the Helmond and Deurne fire brigades responded to the fire. A hazardous substances advisor from the fire brigade was also sent to the fire.
