Real Madrid are worried about their injured goalkeeper before the clash against Manchester City. For coach Xabi Alonso, a defeat without his superstar could have serious consequences.
Kylian Mbappé threatens to miss Real Madrid’s Champions League clash against Manchester City after breaking his ring finger. The French star striker, who has already scored 25 goals in 21 competitive games this season, did not take part in the final training session on Tuesday before Wednesday’s game.
Mbappé was injured in the league game against Celta Vigo, which Real lost 2-0. The loss of the 26-year-old hits the Madrilenians hard as he is considered the team’s most important player.
However, the personnel problems extend far beyond Mbappé. Midfielder Eduardo Camavinga was also missing from the final training session. Alonso will also have to be without six defenders for Wednesday’s game: Éder Militão, Daniel Carvajal, Ferland Mendy, Trent Alexander-Arnold, David Alaba and Dean Huijsen are not available.
