Jannik Sinner enters the intense phase of work in view of next season. Off to resistance work, tactics: Roland Garros goal and return to no. 1
We’re starting to push in Dubai. After the first week of a “soft” start for Jannik Sinner, guest at the Abu Dhabi GP on Sunday, now Darren Cahill has also joined the group. A double signal: first of all that the Australian coach will also stay for next season after the “almost” officialization in Turin (“If Jannik wants me, I will stay”) and then that the work is entering its hottest phase. Cahill is a man on the field but also in managing the group and programming and in these days in the Emirate there will be work on both fronts. On the one hand Sinner will work to be more and more resistant in the “marathon” matches which have sometimes been fatal for him, on the other with Simone Vagnozzi he will refine the variations and the technical part to have an increasingly unpredictable and tactically varied game.
the objectives
—
In terms of objectives, the 2026 calendar is already marked for Sinner: among the events marked in red on the calendar are the Italian Internationals in Rome and, naturally, the Roland Garros to complete the career Grand Slam, in addition to the most coveted and long-term objective: regaining world leadership. To hit these targets, continuity in the technical staff is a fundamental component: Cahill’s experience, combined with the daily work of Simone Vagnozzi and the rest of the team, offers Sinner complementary skills from both a tactical and psychological perspective. After the period in Dubai, which should end around the 20th of the month, Sinner will spend the Christmas holidays with his family and then conclude with the usual last phase of work in Monte Carlo and the ritual of the last ball to be thrown in 2025, a year of pain but also great joys, towards 2026 which will hopefully be full of satisfactions.
in South Korea
—
Jannik will leave for South Korea in early January: on the 10th he will open his season with the exhibition match against Alcaraz. Then immediately to Australia where on the 16th he will play in the Kooyong Classic on the Laver Arena before starting the defense of the title at the Australian Open, starting on January 18th.
