Paul Thomas Anderson’s acclaimed action thriller “One Battle After Another” topped the list of film nominees with nine nominations Golden Globes 2026 including “Best Film – Musical or Comedy” as well as “Best Director” and “Best Screenplay” for Anderson.
Five members of the film’s cast received nominations – Leonardo DiCaprio, Chase Infiniti, Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro – while Radiohead’s Jonny Greenwood also received a nomination for best original score.
In the “Best Film – Musical or Comedy” category, “One Battle” competes against “Bugonia”, “Marty Supreme”, “No Other Choice” and Richard Linklater’s two current films “Blue Moon” and “Nouvelle Vague”. The other big film nominees this year were Joachim Trier’s “Sentimental Value” (eight), Ryan Coogler’s “Sinners” (seven) and Chloé Zhao’s “Hamnet” (six). All three will compete in the Best Film – Drama category against “Frankenstein,” “A Simple Accident” and “The Secret Agent.”
All four main actors in “Sentimental Value” were nominated: Renate Reinsve, Stellan Skarsgård, Elle Fanning and Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas. Michael B. Jordan received a nomination for best actor in a motion picture – drama for his role in “Sinners,” and “Hamnet’s” leads, Paul Mescal and Jessie Buckley, were also nominated for their performances.
Other nominations went to Timothée Chalamet for “Marty Supreme,” Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande for “Wicked: Part 2,” Adam Sandler and George Clooney for “Jay Kelly,” Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons for “Bugonia,” Amy Madigan for “Weapons,” and Oscar Isaac and Jacob Elordi for “Frankenstein.”
Golden Globes 2026: Nominations series
In television, “The White Lotus” leads with six nominations, including Best Television Series – Drama and nominations for season three cast members Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey and Aimee Lou Wood.
“Severance” is also nominated for Best Television Series – Drama, while its cast members Adam Scott, Britt Lower and Trammel Tillman were recognized for their performances. “The White Lotus” and “Severance” will compete against “The Diplomat,” “The Pitt,” “Pluribus” and “Slow Horses” for the award for best television series – drama.
In the comedy categories, Only Murders In The Building scored the most nominations with four, with Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short all receiving nominations for their acting performances. In the “Best TV Series – Musical or Comedy” category, the series competes against “The Bear,” “Hacks,” “Nobody Wants This” and “The Studio.”
After sweeping the Emmys earlier this year, “Adolescence” dominated the miniseries categories at the Golden Globes with five nominations. Stars Stephen Graham, Erin Doherty, Owen Cooper and Ashley Walters were all nominated, while the series is up against All Her Fault, The Beast in Me, Black Mirror, Dying For Sex and The Girlfriend in the Best Miniseries category.
The 83rd Golden Globes will air on January 11th and Nikki Glaser will host. This year, podcasts will also be honored for the first time. The list of the most important nominees can be found here:
