Triple goalscorer Ferran Torres from FC Barcelona

FC Barcelona delivered a real gala performance with the 5-3 win at Real Betis and remains at the top of the table in La Liga.

Antony had given Betis the lead in the 6th minute before Barca turned up the heat and went into a bit of a frenzy in the first half. Ferran Torres alone scored three goals (11th, 13th, 40th), his hat trick was interrupted by Roony Bardghji (31st), who scored his first goal for “Blaugrana” in the Spanish league.

The Swede was superbly served by Pedri for his debut goal, and Barca’s playmaker also set up Ferran’s third goal to make the score 4-1 at halftime.

Lamine Yamal increased the score to 5-1 from the penalty spot after the break (59′). Diego Llorente (85th) and Cucho Hernandez (90th) made the defeat look a little more bearable with their late goals.

Barca (40 points) consolidated their lead in La Liga with the goal festival, Real Madrid could reduce the gap to one point with a win on Sunday against Celta Vigo.

Barcelona are already warming up for the upcoming Champions League duel against Eintracht Frankfurt next Tuesday. The Frankfurt team, who suffered a terrible blow at RB Leipzig, could be in for another bitter evening.
